AGM - 25th May 2023

25th May: White City Residents Association will have its Annual General Meeting - all are welcome to attend from 7pm at the Community Centre or online (on Zoom).

White City Residents Association is a formal organisation established to promote the interests and represent the views of residents from the White City Estate (including Batman Close and Lugard House). It is recognised by the Council as the representative group for people in White City and it seeks to gather their views and get answers and action for the community. You can read our Constitution here. White City Residents Association is also responsible for managing the White City Community Centre on India Way - take a look at what is on here.

Please consider joining the Committee which supports the Residents Association. Key roles include the following - but we would be interested in other suggestions:

  • Committee member (expected to attend monthly meetings and contribute)
  • Chair / Co-Chair (responsible for managing meetings and setting agendas)
  • Treasurer (responsible for managing the accounts on a regular basis)
  • Secretary (responsible for arranging meetings, taking and sharing minutes)
  • Liaison Officer (responsible for linking the WCRA with other organisations)
  • Tech Officer (responsible for the WCRA's online presence and social media)
Being on the Committee gives a chance to serve your community by finding out what matters to residents and representing their views back to the community and to others who have an influence or interest in White City. You can bring your skills to join others in making sure that White City residents are informed about issues that affect them, can share their views and can get answers and action for the community as a whole.

Committee members should aim to attend the quarterly Open meetings as well as the monthly Committee meetings (online or in person) so they can stay in touch with what WCRA is hearing from the community and what it is doing to support locals. There are no qualifications required, but we do have a Code of Conduct to make sure that everyone who is elected can take part equally and effectively.

If you want to stand, would like to discuss joining or have any other question, please email wcra.committee@gmail.com
