White City Central: demolition and redevelopment - you can respond

The Council has put in its application to demolish the centre of the estate and rebuild new flats and a mixed-use hub. You can give your views before the start of October - online here

If you want information about the plans, you can see the Council website and a local group's website:

You can give your views or ask someone to submit your views on your behalf. We can help with this at the Community Centre. Anything can be commented on but below are key points which are usually reviewed for applications:
  • Density: If having more people on the estate is right or over-development
  • Open space: Changes to open space, including Bridget Joyce Square, other green spaces and playgrounds
  • Design: How the buildings would look and whether they would fit into the estate
  • Scale: If the scale of the development is suitable for the surrounding or too much
  • Disabled access: If this will be improved or made worse
  • Emergency access: If this will be improved or made worse
  • Flooding risk/Drainage: If this will be improved or made worse
  • Light levels: If new buildings will affect daylight, shading or privacy
  • Community provision: If what is provided will be better or worse
  • Planting: If this will be improved or made worse by loss of mature trees and planting new
  • Parking: If this will be improved or made worse by limits on new parking
  • Roads: If having a new traffic route in the estate will be better or worse
  • Layout: If the extra buildings and their layout will be better or worse
