Our major events are listed on Eventbrite eventbrite.co.uk/o/white-city-residents-association and will always be free or very low charge.
Our Open Meetings for residents are held every three months - or more often if there is an issue that needs extra attention by the community. The dates for the next year will be published here after the new Committee is elected at the AGM in late May.
We also host events for other organisations. Upcoming events include:
- Imperial College's Humans of Health photo exhibition - 30th May to 3rd June daily
Humans of Health Research exhibition
Date: 30 May to 3 June
Venue: White City Community Centre
Discover the inspiring stories and people behind healthcare research at Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) in a free photography-led exhibition - Humans of Health Research.
The exhibition features a range of NHS staff such as doctors, midwives, physiotherapists, pharmacists, nurses, patients and healthcare scientists. Many juggle research and clinical work and they all share what motivated them to get involved in research. Patients also talk about the reasons why they got involved in research and how taking part has affected their health and their life.
Previously hosted in Imperial’s main entrance in South Kensington, we are now bringing this exhibition to White City Community Centre for wider audiences to see. This will be the final opportunity to see the exhibition in full before the images are donated to the hospital partners and put on permanent display there.
We will also be hosting a lunchtime conversation café on Wednesday 31 May and Thursday 1 June from 13.00-14.30 where some of those featured in the exhibition will be sharing their motivations and experience of being part of research.
Imperial College AHSC is a strategic university-NHS partnership that aims to accelerate the translation of scientific breakthroughs into new ways to improve patient care and maintain the health of the public. Its members are Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, The Institute of Cancer Research, London and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
